Fond farewells & new arrivals: the half-way mark at Punta Gruesa

So, we have reached the historic week 6 of phase 102 at Punta Gruesa! To mark this event three new volunteers joined our ranks; welcome to April, Frances and Kelsey, who will spend the next 5 weeks with us. Also, there was a sad goodbye to Dan, who left us this week; thank you Dan for starting our fish monitoring and reading every book in the library (or so it seemed).

One former 5-weeker has been having such a good time that he’s extended his stay an extra week; awesome news, Chris, it’ll be good to have you around a bit longer.

Training has been progressing well, with the first fish monitoring taking place and everyone else not far behind. Fingers-crossed, with good weather we should all be monitoring soon.

Lastly, happy birthday to Zara! We celebrated with a scrumptious vanilla cake…mmmmm….cake…
