Turtle Festival coming soon

After 6 years, the Marine Turtle Festival has become a tradition and an expected event for locals and tourists! This year it will be held in Tulum, Quintana Roo on the 17th and 18th of October.

The purpose of the Festival is to celebrate the closing of the Turtle Season as well as to raise awareness for its conservation and gather togetherall the Institutions that work for it. Therefore, many activities are in the process of being organized by the Institutions involved in it such as Tulum and Solidaridad Municipalities, Universidad de Quintana Roo, Casa de la Cultura de Tulum, Centro Ecologico de Sian Ka’an (CESIAK), Centro Ecológico de Akumal (CEA), Xcaret, Xel-ha, Flora fauna y Cultura de México, Eco-bahia, Amigos de Sian Ka’an, among many others.

Since the beginning of the Festival, GVI has been part of it and every year Expedition members (EMs) and staff organize environmental games and help in the logistics during the event.

We are very excited that this year won't be the exception and all EMs from Punta Gruesa and Pez Maya will participate in it!
