Marine debris

As we have published in previous posts, Marine debris is a big problem in Marine Conservation all over the world. This is one of the reasons why we carry out our continuous beach clean program and we participate in every beach clean up we can.

On a weekly basis, both in Pez Maya and Pta Gruesa we clean and monitor the debris found, separating it into different categories: plastic, organic, metal, glass, rubber, medical waste...This data is shared with our partners and we are now trying to forge a new parteship with the Ocean Conservancy, so our data can be part of a regional approach, and solution, to this major problem.
