Scientific Posters 5th Coral Reefs Mexican Congress
The poster from Punta Gruesa, Mahahual prepared by Stu, Chris and the current staff there will present the results from the first year of work in Punta Gruesa since this expedition changed location. These results are very important as they set a start point for the incoming years of monitoring in the area, as well as being very useful to be used to run comparisons with the area studied in the previous base location and to Pez Mayan’s results, being the latter a Protected Area.
The poster prepared by Lluvia and Laura from Pez Maya in Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve, will show an analysis of the data collected from 2006 to 2008 in this area. The results have showed an increase of Turf Algae and a decrease of coral cover. It will present the illnesses found in the area as well as bleaching findings.
Congratulations to all the people involve in this presentation, we will be looking forward publishing a copy of the posters after been presented in the Congress.
