It’s us against the wind!
Diving got off to a slow start with the wind thrawrting the first day, but our positive mental attitude has given us the rest of the week in the water. Progress on the science front has been rapid, particularly with the coral-ers, with almost all having passed their computer assessments and all doing well in the water.
There are many strong characters this phase who are experimenting with ideas such as ‘fact of the day’ and high fives, some of which have taken off better than others…but kudos for the effort! Party night take one also promises to bring good things, with very grown up games such as musical chairs and pass the parcel in the pipeline. It’s all very exciting. Another project for ‘watch this space’ is the catamaran being pioneered by Guy and Clemens, fashioned from bamboo and tarpaulin. So far it is a pile of wood on the beach, but we are all expecting a grand vessel by the end of five weeks! …watch this space!
Other than that, the phase is running to plan; lectures are being given, knowledge is being bestowed and bites and sunburn are ripe amongst the Em’s…the mozzies and sun obviously saw them coming! But all is well, so fingers crossed we have begun as we mean to continue!
Bienvenidos, bienvenue and welcome to the Volunteers of 092! May your time here be happy and prosperous.
