Thank you Pei-chen for your time here!
The next day, the festival was moved to the beach not far away from the ruins- at Playa Pescadores. All the volunteers not only assisted in the logistics that made this event possible but also teamed up to compete with 14 other groups of family in a turtle sand sculpture competition! How exciting! It was awesome to see kids work collaboratively with their parents, let their creativity lead the way to build their own unique turtle sand sculpture. Unfortunately, the volunteer team didn’t win but that also meant the lucky winner could bring back the great prize that GVI offered, such as snorkeling equipment, assortment of toys, environmental brochure of Si’an Kan biosphere…etc.
It was great to see how much people loved what we had prepared for them and being a part of this amazing event! To be honest, I couldn’t find a better way to spend my last weekend here in the community project in Mexico.
