Welcome Lluvia to Regional office!

We would like to welcome LLuvia Soto Jimenez to Playa del Carmen Regional Office as our new Country Director! After spending 3 years on base, Lluvia started as part of the National Scholarship Programme and was offered to stay one more phase as Scholar in January 2008.

During this time she continued sharing her biological and local knowledge with the volunteers and the nearby community, while finishing her Divemaster qualification.

Then she was offered to stay as scientific staff at Pez Maya, where she enjoyed teaching underwater biology, Spanish and even some salsa moves! She was then offered the position of base manager which she performed very professionally and developed a stronger link with Punta Allen and Tulum community. After a year of being base manager and carrying a vast knowledge of GVI and Marine conservation LLuvia has recently taken the position of Country Director in Mexico, position that we know she will perform in her usual expert manner!
