Another successful Staff Training Workshop in the Caribbean!
Working in GVI is one of those jobs in which you never get bored as there is always something to do and new things to learn. As such every two phases, we hold a staff training workshop in which all staff members from both marine bases, Regional office and Amigos de Sian Ka’an get together for 4 days in one of the bases or in a nearby place to standardize procedures, get updates and have some fun. This time we went to Pez maya base where we worked on topics like GVI field work, Health and Safety, intro to new Science methodologies and of course the coming COP16 to be held in Cancun in November and Mexico’s Bicentenary Independence Day!
All staff members passed with honors the Health and Safety exams and we managed to standardize many procedures and exchange experiences and expertise related to various topics. It is always great to get together to update and meet the new faces in the team. Welcome to Olly, Martin, Nikki, Erin, Vicki, Jack and Rhu!
Finally as part of Corportate Social Responsibility activities we went to Mahahual and participated in the clean up day organized by Sustenta and other organizations there! It was a lot of fun!
We are looking forward to the next training workshop!
