Miami Marathon donation is handed to Amigos de Sian Ka'an

Last week saw the delivery of two very important cheques to our main partners, Amigos de Sian Ka'an.                                                                                                                                                       

The first one was delivered by Danny, on behalf of the GVI Charitable Trust, and represented all the donations collected by the Charity post Hurricane Dean. The

 donations will be use by Amigos to help rebuild our old home in Mahahual, Estacion Costa Maya, very severely damaged by Hurricane Dean. Some of the money will also be used to help nearby communities where Amigos play a vital role in their sustainable development and environmental education. We thank all of you who donated and helped raised $2,400 for this cause.

The second cheque that was given to Amigos was a collection of donations that Danny raised when competing in the 2008 ING Miami Marathon last February. Danny, and a group of 4 friends completed the Miami Marathon, and kick started a major fundraising campaign in support of Amigos de Sian Kaan's Coral Reef Programme, as part of the International Year of the Reef. A total of $3,900 were raised thanks to all of your donations.
