Olympics to be held at Punta Gruesa in 2009!

Work has begun to prepare the area for the upcoming games to be hosted by Punta Gruesa. Preparations have been underway for beach Olympics for weeks, and a short spell of bad weather has encouraged the labourers to get stuck in and create the necessary arenas. These consist of a chuck-a-nutt court (a primitive version of bowls with coconuts) a nicely raked beach for races, and most recently, a multipurpose sport arena a few metres up the coast which has been cleared of debris for the upcoming tournaments. Next on the list are a pair of lightweight footie goals made with scavenged, washed up wood, and the game is on! Once the opening ceremony is finalised, the new facilities will be made use of officially for the first time.
