FAIR TRADE… second part and more to be done!

As a follow up to the 1^st Fair trade forum, and taking advantage of the tourist high season, Xcaret park opened a space for producers from Mayan areas to exhibit their products and the way they are manufactured. The space will be opened for a week from the 23^rd to the 28^th of July and it is intended to be a permanent space.

With the participation of institutions such as GVI, Amigos de Sian ka’an, Flora, Fauna y Cultura de México among others the organization of the event is maturing.

This time producers from six communities from the south of Quintana Roo i.e. Tihosuco, Nohbec, Kopchen, Buena Vista, Dzula and Felipe Carrillo Puerto will be showing how they produce honey, “bejuco” baskets, wooden and fiber handcrafts, hammocks and traditional plants medicine.

For sure an event worth to be going!
