Peace One Day is a day for individuals everywhere to become involved in the peace process, as well as a day that provides a window of opportunity for aid agencies to carry out life-saving work. Its objective is to institutionalise Peace Day 21st September.
Throughout the years, millions of people have been active on Peace Day in every country of the world, and hundreds of organisations have carried out life-saving activities in areas of conflict. Peace One Day’s Campaigns and activities in Education, Music, Film, Sport, Dance, Art and Online have proved that the day works.

GVI has been invited this year to join the event so we will be doing different activities in the different programs we have. In Pez Maya, marine expedition: volunteers, staff and children from Punta Allen will draw a picture of something thye think would bring world peace, then they will make a collage with them to make a larger picture. They will also sing a song related to peace!
Playa del Carmen community volunteers and staff will work with the kids from the toy library (ludoteca), they will make pinwheels and paint them with the flags of the World. They will also make posters promoting peace and then they will do a walk around the park nearby the ludoteca to promote peace and tolerance with the community.
