GVI Live! 02th August 2013, Bethany
After being here 3 out of my 4 weeks, I've
decided I'm definitely coming back. My shifts at the Ludoteca have been in the
afternoon this week, leaving the mornings free to wander 5th avenue
and chill at the beach. This morning me and one of the other volunteers decided
to spontaneously go jet skiing which was
insane. Although I was sure I was going to die, I couldn't have asked
for a more beautiful and thrilling experience.
In the evenings the best way to unwind from working is with a drink on the
beach, last night we went to a bar and were entertained with live music and
fire dancers.
After a few weeks we know the kids pretty
well and its always great to be greeted with hugs and kisses. My Spanish isn't
great but it really doesn't matter as its so easy to communicate with them.
Tomorrow is carnival day at the Ludoteca and we've been working hard all week
to make prizes for the games. Its bound to be a fun day. The Ludotecarians are
amazing and so devoted to the kids, its so good to get to help them out in
anyway we can. They work so hard but still manage to keep a sense of humour.
So excited to see what the final week
brings!! Will be so sad to leave the kids when I go, I plan on taking a few of
the cutest ones home with me! I''ll also really miss the town and the laid back
way of life here.
