Getting ready for your coming Mexico adventure?

Hola!!

In just 4 days we will be receiving our next lot of adventurers here in Mexico. We are very excited and looking forward to start another phase!!

Staff on base and office are getting ready to receive you and just thought that the following list that former volunteers left would be useful while you are preparing! Although some of these items are also at the end of your field manual seems like they are a most according to former volunteer!

20 things to take to a GVI expedition

  • Teabags! To drink or use as currency for homesick Brits/Irish
  • Travel games – bad weather days, days off, games nights
  • Binoculars – birds and other wildlife
  • Hackisack – Power hour, bad weather days
  • Face paint – party nights & community stuff
  • Wind-up torch/portable solar chargers. Genius!
  • Musical instrument – think more guitar than bag-pipes
  • Dry-bag
  • Hammock (though probably a good idea to buy here)
  • Loose, light clothes, especially from around March/April to end September
  • A KITE!
  • Repellant
  • Camera
  • Music and battery free speakers
  • Light waterproof
  • Good book
  • Luxery food items
  • Pen knife
  • USB Flash drive – 2gb minimum
  • Canvas shopping bag
